I should have known the minute he came into our world. Everything Walker does he does with gusto, gumption, and no fear. It started with his birth and has been true for almost every minute since. The only minutes when he seems fearful are when roller coaster or new dogs are involved…and those are pretty rare.
So it shouldn’t surprise me, or anyone reading this, that Walker is often found climbing, jumping, hitting things, bouncing, or running. When he woke up at 5:00am this morning it was followed by him running from room to room, in search of me (he failed to check the bedroom first), and then him climbing up onto our bed (which already had Will in it) and then jumping around. 5:00am means nothing to this boy.
Being a little tired this morning I made oatmeal for breakfast. It’s easy, it’s a favorite in our family and will probably forever since it’s gluten-free. Will was playing on his computer and needed my help. I had turned the stove off and moved the pot. Doesn’t matter. Before I knew it Walker had climbed up onto the stove and was screaming. Turns out he burned four of his left-hand digits on the still hot stove.
He has now spent most of the morning having me recite which finger is which (i.e. pinky, pointer, etc), playing with his Thomas band-aids (he needed one for each finger!), and crying because they hurt. I don’t doubt that they hurt, they are already turning into white blisters on the tips of his fingers…BUT I do know that part of the tears come for show!
Look at those band-aids!

Oh, woe is he!

After all the trauma he was still excited to eat his oatmeal, and then promptly fell asleep at the table!

A sprinkling of conversations had at our house today:
Will: “Mom I need to go poop!”
Me: “Ok Will, you can go all by yourself.”
Will: “No, I need your help.”
Me: “Ok, I’m coming.”
(the event occurs…I don’t like to talk about it)
Will: “Mom, I told you the poop was coming. I squeezed my bum cheeks to hold it in, and then I did a poop. And it’s a daddy-size poop.”
Me: no words…just smiling and trying not to laugh.
Will: “See Mom, no accidents!” ~ smiling with absolute pride
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Walker: “Fix this Momma” (as he comes up to me with Mr. Potato Head)
Me: “What happened to him?” (holding the body, in tact, of Mr. Potato Head)
Walker: “His bum fell off” (referring to the back slat of Mr. Potato Head which is in his hands)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
(in his room playing with a truck)
Will: ” Now make sure you wipe your penis.”
Will (as the truck): “I don’t have a penis.”
Will: “Yes you do.”
Will (as the truck): “No I don’t. I have a foob.” (not quite sure what that is exactly)
Will: “Oh yeah. Well make sure to wipe your foob.”

Well it is finally my turn to write! My Mom tries really hard to let Will and I both have a turn with this but sometimes I am just not really in the mood or I don’t have a lot to say. This week is different for me though because I feel like the world this week was just made for me. Everyone seemed to notice me and everything seemed like it was out just for me.
I did have a few favorite highlights from the week. The first one is that my teeth are coming in. I am getting my two bottom front teeth. I’m really excited because I like to eat my Mom and Dad’s food so this means that I’ll be able to eat even more. In fact I think all the good food that my Mom and Dad made this week was actually just for me. Here is what my two new teeth look like. Burritos, popsicles, cookies- watch out here I come!

Here is what I look like when my teeth hurt. It is not so much fun.

Another of my favorite highlights this week was having lunch with my Dad at the water fountain. We met Dad for his lunch hour at the Gateway. The fountain there is lots of fun. I wasn’t too sure about it myself at first but I did warm up. It was fun though because Will was really excited to play in it and he’s usually much more of a weenie than I am. It was so nice to have time with Dad and also play in the fountain. See what fun we had:

The last highlight for the week this week was having Mom curl my hair. Yeah, I know it sounds girlie but if you tease me I’ll keep your butt- trust me, I can. My Mom is really excited about my curly hair and when she noticed that it made a nice curl she had to take a picture. I loved having all of the pictures taken with the camera!

For now I think I should close. I’ll add one more picture of me having fun with my Aunt Victoria who came to keep Mom and us company. Dad put his hat on my head and I looked so cute.
Love,
Walker ‘Turbo’
