Adventures in Bennionland

Grandmas (and Grandpas…but especially Grandmas) get a little magic added to the way kids view them. I love it.

For example, I gave Will his blanket a few minutes ago. It just got washed so it smells and feels wonderful. His response:

“Mom. Smell my blanket!”
I stop to smell it. “Ummm. It smells nice”, I say.
“Yes,” he responds with his nose buried in the blanket, “That’s because it’s from Grandma Steph.”

We had no idea that the New Year’s Fairy makes special deliveries! The boys were extra delighted to find our lovely postman at the door with a package. Grandma Steph obviously has good connections with all the creatures in fairy-tale land.

The added treat was watching the boys open up their new books.

A colorful favorite for Will called Planting a Rainbow and an apropos choice for Walker in Pancakes for Breakfast.

The fortunate thing about all the travel that we did in the Fall was that we got to have lots of time with family.

In fact the Bennion/Skolmoski side of the family arranged the holiday party so that we could be there for it!

The boys were absolutely spoiled – as usual – as were we! We loved watching everyone open their presents, the dogs romp around, and the general fun that comes with this side of the family.

Will is always so helpful – especially when presents are around.
