Will, Eric and I are sitting in the front room. Will just got out of bed and Eric is getting ready to leave for work.
Will is telling Eric about Clifford. He mentions to Eric that Clifford went to Shangra-Large. Of course neither Eric or I really understand what he is saying – not because of clarity but because we’d never heard Shangra-Large before. And so the conversation goes…
Eric – You mean Shangra-La?
Will – No. They went to Shangra-Large.
Eric – Oh, Shangra- LODGE.
Will – No. Shagra-Large. Like large.
Eric – Oh. Large like big.
Will – Large, like a large Diet Coke.
Last Christmas Alan and Jen gave the boys both a train set that you paint and then put together. I have never had the boys be SO focused for so long. It was pure heaven. Thanks Alan & Jen!
It shouldn’t surprise any of you that around here our house is full of political mumbo-jumbo. If Eric and I aren’t talking about it then it’s being discussed on NPR which seems to be ever-present (note to self – turn on some music. Our kids know who Ben Bernakie and Henry Paulson are!!).
The other night we turned on the TV to watch the debates. When the first debates were on I’d asked the boys who they thought should be the next President. Will had said Barack Obama because he looked nice and Walker said John McCain because he looked like Bob. So I figured, since they watched part of the debates, we could get another poll.
