Good, better, & best!

Posted in Daddy B, Momma B | 1 Comment »

We’ve had lots of news in our extended family in this short week. Here it is, in brief. More detail will come later.

Good:
Papa Paul just bought his first motorcycle. He completed training a couple of weeks ago and found a bike on Tuesday that he likes! He will soon officially be The Man on the Motorcycle.

Better:
We completed an application for an apartment near Daddy B’s work – and got it! We’ll officially sign papers next week and start the move process in November

Best!!!
Uncle Ryan and Aunt Melissa just got the amazing news – a child, a newborn little boy, will be placed into their care tomorrow. They’ve been hoping for this for a long time and we are SO DANG EXCITED!!

Like I said, more details will come in the following days. Isn’t life grand?

(Forgive the horrid paragraphs – I didn’t want all the news to be displayed right on the front page)

A cut below the rest

One of the things I hate paying for (mostly because I’m cheap) is haircuts for the boys. Whenever we go it takes them about fifteen minutes and costs between $12-15. That’s $72 an hour y’all. Not to mention that I am never all that thrilled with the cut they get.

So of course in my delusion of myself I think I can cut the boys hair – and when I’m feeling really practical (read: cheap) I break out the clippers, scissors, and comb and set to it.

Heee heee hee.

Someday I might not be so um – practical – but that will probably be because I won’t have the time or I can’t bribe them with candy anymore…

Oh, oh, oh she’s magic – you know!

Grandmas (and Grandpas…but especially Grandmas) get a little magic added to the way kids view them. I love it.

For example, I gave Will his blanket a few minutes ago. It just got washed so it smells and feels wonderful. His response:

“Mom. Smell my blanket!”
I stop to smell it. “Ummm. It smells nice”, I say.
“Yes,” he responds with his nose buried in the blanket, “That’s because it’s from Grandma Steph.”

(the pic is of Will and Grandma Steph with the rockin’ gluten-free ice cream cones she bought. It’s the first ice cream cone he’s had since going GF!!)
